OPEN GYMS-
Open Gyms are meant only for players interested in trying out for Great Falls Select.   
Great Falls Select will have teams for girls and boys in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 only.  (3^rd and 4^th graders see note below). 
The September Open Gyms give players a chance to shake the rust off and get some court time before tryouts begin in October.  Open Gyms are not a tryout, just a chance to get comfortable on the court before tryouts begin.

To attend an Open Gyms or a Select Tryouts, players MUST be registered for our 2023-24 Winter Select/House Programs.

Please adhere to the following Open Gym requirements:

1. Check In at the gym door, anyone unregistered will not be permitted to participate
2. Bring the appropriate size basketball-write your name on your basketball
   1. Girls grades 5th thru 8th will use a 28.5" ball
   2. Boys 5th and 6th Grade will use a 28.5" ball
   3. Boys 7th and 8th Grade will use a 29.5" ball
3. Bring a labeled Water Bottle-water fountains are disabled
4. No spectators will be permitted in the gym

SPECIAL NOTE- 4^th and 3^rd Graders
Great Falls Basketball uses a grade-based placement system and does not permit House League players to play up or play down in the House league based on age, size, or subjective factors including skill level, scoring ability, ball handling, prior experience, etc.

Players of unusual size or who possess unusually strong talent should consider trying out for the 5^th Grade Select program or the Fourth Grade Developmental program.  If a third or fourth grade player does not make a 5th grade select team, they can try out for the 4th grade developmental program.
