Great Falls Basketball requires all Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Grade Group Coordinators, Board Members, Training Referees and Desk Referees to become Volunteer Building Directors.
A Volunteer Building Director is a Fairfax County certification that requires the volunteer to watch a brief video and then take a simple quiz. Once this is completed, the volunteer will be issued a certificate and the certificate is valid for 2 years. Volunteers should have a copy of this on them at all times that you are in a Fairfax County gym (ex. copy in your wallet, in your gym bag or on picture saved on your phone). In addition, when you have completed this, a copy should be provided to:
House Coaches-your Grade Group Coordinator
Select Coaches-Select Board of Directors members Referees- Board Director of Referees
Board Members- Board of Directors Secretary
NOTE- The video will reference reports to complete when you observe damage in a gym facility (ex. leaking ceiling, broken basketball hoop). Great Falls Basketball requires only that our Volunteer Building Directors immediately notify our Director of Facilities, Debbie Volpicelli at [email protected] or via text at 703-389-3202 and she will complete all paperwork referenced in the video.
