Volunteer Coaching Opportunities for High School Students

As an organization, we strive to promote not only a safe and fun basketball teaching experience for our community but we are also eager to develop leadership qualities in our youth.

In support of that effort, we encourage youth coaches amongst our House league coaching staff.

9th-12th graders are eligible to be Assistant Coaches

10th-12th graders with one year experience as an Assistant Coach are eligible to be a Head Coach

GFHoops provides documentation of Volunteer Hours worked for all Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches.

Opportunities:
Grade 3 thru 10 - Head Coach or Assistant Coach
Grades 11 and 12 - Player/Head Coach (all teams are player coached)

Commitment:
Nov 1st - Coach's Organization Meeting, Forestville ES 7pm
Nov 1-6 - 2hrs - player evaluations for grades 3-8th
Nov 8-12 - 2hrs - player draft, grades 3-8th
Nov 13th - practices begin (1 hour, weeknights)
Nov 18/19 - games being (1 hour, Sat or Sun)
weekly practices and games thru 1st weekend in March
no practices/games during school holidays/breaks

To Become a Coach
Register: at www.gfhoops.com
click on REGISTER on the top right of the page
Create an Account for yourself
Once you have created your account, look on the left side of the page and click on VOLUNTEER tab

Pick ONE GRADE that you would like to volunteer for. If there are no opportunities in your first choice grade, the board will reach out to you if there are opportunities in the grade above or below your first choice grade.

Once Registered, CHECK YOUR EMAILS regularly as this is the main communication mode.
